THE JUMPSUIT

During the last few years, the jumpsuit has become a fashion must-have. But loved as it is by designers and celebrities, would you believe this key style statement has already been around for almost a century.

When Kate Moss designed a jumpsuit for her collection with Topshop a few years ago, they became one of the hottest trends to hit the high street in years. Comfortable and chic, jumpsuits can look good on almost any body type. Now they are a hit on the red carpet and changing the game of red carpet style and fashion.

Believe it or not, the jumpsuit’s origins don’t belong to the world of high fashion at all. In fact, they were originally designed as a work garment. During the early 20th century, military pilots who would strap parachute packs to their backs first wore the jumpsuit.

Im loving the jumpsuit and will make sure it is a staple piece in my summer wardrobe. Check out some of my choice favs. You can find these on many online stores.

CIRCA 1920s

Following the splash of The Great Gatspy there is a surge in all things 1920s glam. About time I say. Here here. I have alway had a strong liking to the roaring 20s and been fascinated by its culture. It was a revaluation. A break for freedom. Everything seemed to change in that era. Skirts got shorter, parties got wilder, women got more daring, men got rich, the drink got plentiful and the music got louder. Everything got glamafied and people seemed to party their money and cares away.It would have been some time to be around.

It was an era of speak easy excess, debauchery and big business in Hollywood. It would have been some spectacle to have been a fly on the wall.

The fashion of that era was extraordinary. Dresses had a swing and were worn heavy with beads and sequence,. Stunning pieces were worn by all. Right now the high streets are offering a glimpse in to the fashion world of that time. I have put together some original circa 1920s items for you to take a look at. When you go shopping you can take an original idea or item and create your own way of styling it. Check out some of these stunning pieces. Enjoy and hope you find some fabulous 1920s inspired fashion.

PETER PILOTTO LFW

I like a bit of unique styling and people brave enough to wear these creations down the street. You probably will see some high flyers doing just that at London’s Fashion Week. These amazing designs are by none other than Peter Pilotto. Peters crazy creations span from his background of half-Austrian, half-Italian, coming form such a colourful background I think helps gives his vision zest. His intention: womenswear embraces both new and classic perspectives on elegance. Otherworldly prints combine with soft, sculptural shapes. I think these outfits would look awesome at a festival 🙂
